Miss Oklahoma stands by comments in support of Arizona Immigration

Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard says she has “no regrets” about her response that some say led to her losing out on the crown.

Woolard finished first runner-up behind winner Miss Michigan Rima Fakih in the Miss USA pageant after voicing her support of Arizona’s controversial immigration law that defines illegal immigration as trespassing and allows local law enforcement agencies to question people they suspect of being in the country illegally.

Recent polls show that a majority of Americans likely agree with Woolard on the issue, but still some people feel the controversial question may have cost her the crown.

According to the scores shown during the live telecast, the Oklahoma representative was far ahead of eventual winner Fakih in both the swimsuit and evening gown portions of the competition, reported Fox News.

Woolard said she was not surprised by the question.

“I was absolutely ready for the question and truthfully for me, it wasn't tough. I believe if you know who you are and what you believe and why you believe it, then no question can stump you,” Woolard said. “I was confident in my answer, there was no hesitation, and I just spoke from my heart and I believe what I said was well said and I feel strongly about that and I'm proud of my answer.”

  1. Two classy beautiful qualfied babes of the same race but different religions. The pc liberal biased immigration question was a dirty lib trick like the ones posed to Ms California on gay marriage last yr.
What can you say? Libs are filthy animal bums.

  2. Yes I think several people had their "heart on's"

  3. My question is: Was this question posed to every contestant? If not, why not?

Wonder what would've happened if that had been the case?

  4. The stripper contest photos are already out on the winner.

  10. God forbid Miss Okie actually not win because she just wasn't quite good enough. No, we have to blame it on her comments.

  11. And the "winner" stated that contraception drugs are controlled substances that should be paid for by the tax payer so everyone has this availible for "free".

Plus she was a former stripper 101 pole dancing champion.

A true liberal icon for generations to come.

  13. Typical Republican

I would like to thank the Charlotte Nonobservant for letting a mindless liberal with no substance to post garbage like this and then have the same mindless liberal state the other side is posting hoate.

Such intelligent comments from the smart Nick Mackey voter is not surprising, however.

  16. They used to put the contestants in a sound proof room and asked the same question. I agree they all should get the same one.

If not, I wonder what the new Miss USA'a answer would have been if the question was asked of her, "do you renounce radical Muslim ideology and their hatred of America"?

  18. Why do so many hatemongers love posting from anonymous accounts? "Libs are filthy animal bums" says Anonymous at 3:51pm.

No matter how you vote, no matter how you color yourself - and I believe everyone is liberal about some things, conservative about others - saying something like that on a public forum without so much as a nickname behind it is chicken.

And I'm a Gamecock, so I know chicken.

  19. could care less about her vying for the "crown".

+1 for her being a real American, and caring about America enough to answer the question.

All those nut bags that want to be like Mexico and Europe and the rest should just move there already.

Why "fundamentally transform" one country into what other countries already are?

    ReplyDelete
  20. This country is moving back to substance and character over style, but in this young ladies case she has it all.

From the point where you took the right road you won, all the best Miss America in our hearts.

  21. The stripper wins and the states rights advocate loses. To all the little girls out there just know its ok to take your clothes off. You too can be Miss USA. Just don't speak your heart and love america and how it was created.

  22. If she lost over this answer then she is the REAL winner and they stole the title from her.

  23. God bless her forever. She lives up to the example of another great Oklahoman who paid heavily for her convictions, Anita Bryant.

  25. "...Arizona’s controversial immigration law that defines illegal immigration as trespassing and allows local law enforcement agencies to question people they suspect of being in the country illegally." That is very misleading! A subject can only be questioned about their immigration status if they have been stopped for a separate offense! READ THE BILL!

  27. There is no doubt in my mind that the winner's heritage clinched her win for her in the Land of The Politically Correct.

I am equally sure that Miss Oklahoma's answer doomed her. Having said that, I can't fault her for it.

Both of these young women are both beautiful and intelligent. Either of them can represent us well. It is just unfortunate that political correctness had to be a part of this pageant.

  29. She rocks!

Millions of Americans are out of work..

10s of Millions of Non-Americans are here working for cash and most under the table un-taxed and, they send all the money they can home anyway..

    States are going broke...

Federal Laws have failed us due to intentional lack of enforcement and funding by the Federal Government...

    Any questions..

  30. Got God Gang

Yes it was a set up....again there is some hidden agenda goin' on and
    the wasp are being played

in the future....each contestant should be asked the same question

    more later....

  31. Being in this country illegally is breaking the law. I am not a fan of trying to make laws blury to fit the liberal agenda.

It's like the DMV- if you aren't old enough to drive, you don't get a license. If you get caught without a license- you are treated as a criminal: which is because you are breaking the law!

    Same should apply to illegals.

  32. Dear Mr Leghorn:

I was sticking with something polite, plus I wanted to make the Gamecock analogy.

And isn't Widow Hen's little boy still outwitting you?

  33. with liberals in charge and Obama as President, is it a surprise that the lower-scoring Muslim candidate who is possibly a pole-dancer won Miss USA after Miss Oklahoma spoke in support of enforcing the law on illegal immigration?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I am sad Oklahoma lost if that's why she lost. That was an opinion question.....not an IQ question that you can "get wrong". However, let's not let a radio contest where a girl participates in a fun competition, dancing on a pole fully clothed make her a stripper. Passing judgement is a dangerous thing.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The whole tone of the article is that she gave the wrong answer and that she should apolgize fro her beliefs.

Thing is, the winner was the dumbest airhead of the bunch with the most nonsensicle answer.

Frankly, I don't think the Miss Universe pageant could pass up the opportunity to prove how diverse they were. of course they were gonna pick the muslim woman over another blonde WASP no matter if she had started screaming "Allah Akbar!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  36. Miss Michigan the Muslim babe is happy that Miss OK the Christian babe gave the wrong non-liberal politically incorrect answer for sure.

The bad part is the bigoted powers that be in control are running a sham pageant sending a message you must be liberal politically correct if ever want to win in the future and that goes got anything. Mind control. Socialism. Facism.

They just turned down Limbaugh to be part owner of an NFL team last year who has been a fan all his life although they allowed liberal sluts like Madonna or Fergy to own part teams who know nothing about the game.

Forced Orwellian social revolution thought police mindwash.

  37. She has a right to her opinion. Have people lost their minds? The day this country demands we all think alike is the day we are no longer a free country.

  40. Thank you, last anonymous poster, for pointing out the important thing: Miss Oklahoma darn well should stand by her comments, and good for her. She should be allowed to have her opinion. DID speaking her opinion about a political topic cost her a contest? Doesn't matter what was the topic and what was her opinion; if a beauty contest was decided based strictly on political reasons because of answers to a question with no right or wrong answer, then that's a free speech problem.

Ignore the question itself, ignore the races or faiths of everyone involved: that's the heart of the issue. The rest is just confusing the issue.

Kudos to you, Miss Oklahoma !!! Anyone who supports immigrants being allowed to come over here and destroy crops, livestock, land, AND cause our homeland security gards to be killed (or any other American) needs to think twice about whose "rights" they support ... their fellow Americans or those wanting to come here illegally and leave distruction in their wake !!!
